
31 Yrs/male (India National) was admitted in local hospital at Dublin (Nov 23) with C/O onset refractory status epilepticus likley as a reulst of autoimmune encephalitis. He was in ICU for weeks. During hospitalization there was significant brain damage following the severity of seizures and he had an acquired Brain Injury.
Post all investigations, he was dignosed as status epilepticus, autoimmune encephalitis, acquired Brain Injury.
As condition of patient showed little improvement, his visa also was expiring on 11th Jun 24 and he need to be taken to rehab centre, family planned to transfer him back to India in Tertiary care facility-Delhi for further treatment/rehab.
They were in touch with India Embassy at Dublin and other agents for med Evac to India but no one was able to undertake this Med Evac, Then they got in touch with EMSOS team to transfer the patient to Delhi/Meerut on urgent basis. Team EMSOS was activated and planned the Med evac as stretcher case in commercial airlines.
Team EMSOS managed to obtain all clearances/approvals from Embassy, Airlines urgently, planned and executed the Med evac succesfully, transferred patient to Tertiary care facility in stable condition under Doctors Escort.
